Data privacy

As of 25 May 2018, our project complies with the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We are kindly requesting your consent for the following:  

 

Video recordings and photos being taken of you, on some of which you will be clearly identifiable. These photographs and video recordings may be used in GIZ’s public relations work, (including being published on the GIZ website) in connection with the event. The recordings and pictures will not be used commercially.  

 

To store and process the provided personal data in the GIZ database if there is a requirement within the scope of activities of GIZ (e.g. position in company, attendance at workshop, etc.).  

 

The data will be used exclusively for the purposes described; any other use will always be subject to further consent. The data/photos/recordings will be deleted latest 3 years after the project/programme for which the data/photos/recordings has/have been collected has ended. GIZ takes the protection of personal data very seriously. GIZ uses appropriate technical and organisational measures to secure data against unintentional or intentional falsification, destruction, loss or access by unauthorised persons. Your data will not be kept for any longer than is required for the purpose for which it is processed or than it is required to be retained in order to comply with statutory obligations. No transfer of personal data to third countries is envisaged. Access to your personal data is restricted to GIZ staff who need to process it for the above-mentioned purpose(s), and who will handle the information you provide in a proper and confidential manner.

Rights of data subjects: You are entitled to enquire about your personal data, have the data corrected if necessary, and ask for processing to be restricted or data to be erased. The data will then be removed from our system. The consent given to use personal data can also be revoked at any time. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing up to the time of revocation. To revoke consent, please send an email to qi-india@giz.de. Should you have any questions or complaints relating to this statement or the processing, you can contact the GIZ data protection officer at the following email address: datenschutzbeauftragter@giz.de. You have the right to approach the data protection authorities with complaints. The authority responsible is the German Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (BfDI).
