The publication provides an overview of the various components of quality infrastructure (QI). It also provides information on the system of product legislation in the EU and Germany. The event will take place over two days in a hybrid format. It will be broadcast live and held in English.
Wednesday, 20 October 2021,
14.00 – 17.00 (CEST)
Thursday, 21 October 2021,
14.00 – 17.30 (CEST)
During the event, expert talks and panel discussions will show how QI functions and is organised in Germany and the European Union. This overview will be complemented by QI trends (QI digitalisation, Industrie 4.0). From a scientific perspective, the economic significance of QI will be discussed.
The publication is the result of a collaboration between the key quality infrastructure institutions in Germany: the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung - BAM), the Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur - BNetzA), the National accreditation body for the Federal Republic of Germany (Deutschen Akkreditierungsstelle - DAkkS), the German Institute for Standardization (Deutsches Institut für Normung - DIN), the German Commission for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies of DIN and VDE (DKE), the National Metrology Institute of Germany (Nationale Metrologische Anstalt Deutschlands - PTB) and the German Central Authority of the Federal States for Safety Engineering (Zentralstelle der Länder für Sicherheitstechnik - ZLS).
The Agenda
The official launch of the publication will take place on 20 October. In addition to various key notes and an insight into the publication, high-ranking QI experts will debate the future of QI - trends and challenges - in a panel discussion.
On 21 October, representatives of German QI institutions will present their respective QI fields. In expert presentations you will learn how standardisation, conformity assessment and accreditation, metrology and market surveillance work in Germany and the EU. In addition, you can expect a panel discussion on Quality and safety without borders: the importance of international harmonisation.
