18th Roundtable on Product Safety in China

On 20 June, the 18th Roundtable on Product Safety in China took place at the offices of GIZ China in Beijing. The recurring event brings together representatives from different embassies, international organizations as well as non-governmental organizations and the private sector offering the opportunities to exchange about their experiences, recent events and activities in the area of product safety in China.
The 18th Round Table was led by Division Director Hatto Mattes of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), who visited Beijing as part of a delegation to China. He used the opportunity of the event to update participants about the results of the 6th Annual Meeting of the Working Group (WG) on Product Safety between BMWi, the General Administration for Quality Supervision, Quarantine and Inspection (AQSIQ) and the Certification and Accreditation Administration (CNCA), which had been held in Berlin in May. Topics discussed in the following exchange included conformity assessment for intelligent manufacturing, product safety of automotive products and product safety of medical devices. Another point on the agenda was a presentation of 2 ongoing PPP-projects on water standards and on comparative testing of consumer products, respectively.
