India is the world’s second most populous country and among the world’s largest and fastest growing economies. As such, the Indian market offers many opportunities for foreign companies looking to invest or sell their products and services in the country. However, foreign companies also face challenges of various kinds. In recent months, technical regulations have increased significantly. Such technical regulations can become market access barriers that complicate trade across borders. Knowledge exchange can help to implement regulations accordingly.

India Business Month

On 16 February, Alok Kesari from the India component of GPQI will speak about market access in India and the impact of increasing technical regulations for foreign companies at the India Business Month. Participants will also be informed about dealing with Indian bureaucracy and registering products with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).

The event is part of the India Business Month organised by the consultancy Maier+Vidorno between 4 and 25 February 2021. In seven online exchanges, experts from different sectors will speak about success factors for foreign businesses in India. The topics range from sales, human resources, bureaucracy and M&A to manufacturing and finance.
