The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) launched a website that allows viewing Indian Standards, which are made mandatory through Quality Control Orders (QCOs), free of cost.

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) launched a website that allows viewing Indian Standards, which are made mandatory through Quality Control Orders (QCOs), free of cost. In addition to being India’s national standards body, BIS is also responsible for several voluntary and mandatory certification schemes. With the objective to improve health, safety, environment, prevention of deceptive practices various Indian ministries have started to release QCOs that make compliance to Indian Standards mandatory.

 

The website is managed by the Book Supply Bureau (BSB) and available standards are copyright-protected and cannot be downloaded, printed or stored without prior permission from BIS.
