The “Research Report on the Comparison Between Chinese and German Intelligent and Connected Vehicles (ICV) Type Approval Systems” introduces the administrative and technical regulations related to type approval in China, Germany, and the European Union. In this research report, experts conducted an analysis of the similarities and differences in the relevant technical requirements and test methods.
The main purpose of this research report is to facilitate mutual understanding and communication between the Chinese and German automotive industries regarding technical regulations for ICVs. By comprehensively reviewing these regulations, it promotes cooperation, exchange, and alignment between the two countries in the type approval process for ICVs and its related products.
The research report is derived from the findings of the Sub-Working Group (SWG) on Automotive Safety, Project Line 1 (PL1): Technical Innovation and Technical Harmonisation. PL1 aims to promote the harmonisation of homologation and certification requirements, especially for innovative automotive technologies.
