Registration opened for revision of NOM-020-STPS-2023 on pressure equipment safety

The Mexican Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare (Secretaría del Trabajo y Previsión Social - STPS) opened the registration to organisations and individuals interested in revising the Mexican technical regulation NOM-020-STPS-2023. You can register until 23 April to be part of the working group. The sessions will initiate on 09 May.

NOM-020-STPS-2011 establishes the safety requirements for the operation of pressure vessels, cryogenic vessels and steam generators or boilers in workplaces. The objective is to prevent risks to workers and damage to facilities. It applies to all workplaces where these types of machines and equipment are operated - be it in industry, commerce or services.

 

Interested individuals and organisations are invited to contribute to the draft NOM by reviewing it and suggesting improvements. They can do so by participating in the working group established by the STPS. The group will hold its first session on Tuesday 09 May 2023 at 11:00 a.m. (UTC -6), followed by bi-weekly virtual meetings until the revision is completed.

 

Organisations and individuals who want to participate in the working group can contact the GPQI team in Mexico here for guidance on the registration process. The registration deadline is 23 April 2023.
