Due to the outbreak of COVID-19 and the prevailing lockdown in India, the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has announced to extend the date of implementation of amendments and revisions to Indian Standards by 90 days. This provides additional transition time for the manufacturers of these products. Please find a list of the concerned standards here.

Business operations, supply chains and trade in India are significantly impacted by the current lockdown due to the spread of the coronavirus. Almost all companies and sectors are affected as surveys conducted by the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC), the German Mechanical Engineering Industry Association (VDMA) in India, and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) indicated. The current challenges include declining demand, disruptions in supply chains, and the lack of availability of labour.
